about
The song starts right off with a samba blast beat accompanied by a fast melody of tapping guitars and a samba group right after that. The lyrics tell a story of the ongoing political scenario in Brazil, where politicians are getting richer off the backs of the population, giving them only bread and circuses.
The samba beat continues to build up throughout the song, adding a sense of urgency to the lyrics and amplifying the desperation of the situation. The melodies of the song encapsulates this anger and frustration perfectly. The same Brazilian instruments combined with technical death metal guitar riffs create a soundtrack to a story of growing unrest and despair. The lyrics become even more intense, depicting the neglect that often occurs in a country where corruption and greed are rampant.
At the heart of this song lies the sin of greed, or green, as some have called it that is an insatiable desire for more than one needs or deserves. It's a selfish pursuit of material possessions and power at the expense of others. Greed is embedded in the actions of the politicians and their disregard for the need of their people. Greed has been a part of Brazilian politics since its discovery and it has caused much suffering and violence throughout the nation. This song serves as a reminder for the citizens of Brazil to never forget the injustice and the effects of corruption and greed that have been perpetrated against them. It is a call to arms to never give up the fight to make Brazil a fairer and more equitable society.
The song has a powerful plea by the politician Eneas Carneiro to fight against the system of corruption and speculation, to take back what is rightfully theirs and put an end to the greed of the politicians. Unfortunately, this politician was considered crazy by most of the population brainwashed back then by the manipulative and corrupt media, never reaching the power of the presidency.
It’s a fucking circus and unfortunately people are the clowns, juggling how and with what they can, while politicians are just laughing at everyone's faces, filling their pockets…
“Pior do que tá não fica…” Tiririca Clown
lyrics
Colonized by corruption we exchanged our freedom for some combs and broken mirrors
The independence flag has been hoisted to liberate us from our sins
More than 500 years have past and the crises are even more sustained by a robber culture fed by impunity
Extreme monetary reality in conflict shaping a compulsive and senseless behavior
Football and wobbling butts are the new panem et circenses
Creating animal blindness and nourishing the weak cattle
All the time a new commandment is written following the same pattern:
Hypnosis by entertainment - Distraction of the mass leading to depravity
It doesn´t matter how many died or if they are still shouting
It doesn´t matter how many were scammed or if they are crying
Meanwhile, the worms are “sambando” and laughing at you
And you´re sat, living to die, slowly and reasonless

This is fantastic! Some seriously tasty brutal tech death, with absolutely crushing riffs, rhythm, and vocals.
The album's production and mixing is also perfect, it's very balanced and allows the music to shine through the brutality.
Highly, highly recommended! somethingsomething9

Old school Death Metal in its purest form. Thanks to Transcending Obscurity for this little gem. Found it on Bandcamp Friday. The clean singing part in „Rot of Ages“ is epic - i did not expecting this. Highly recommended for everyone who loves old school Death Metal! Sælzer Bub
