Francisco de Assis Pereira (born November 29, 1967), also known as "O Maníaco do Parque" ("The Park Maniac"), is a Brazilian serial killer which has inspired the song "The Fuck". He is known for raping and murdering 11 women and attempting to assault nine others in a park in the city. Pereira was extroverted and convincing and left the victims to describe their present situation, usually of conflict in their relationships, and then use this information to conquer and convince the girls to go with him to a park nearby on his motorbike. He acted mainly around subway stations, where he approached his victims with the promise of participation in photo shoots of a large cosmetics company, usually scanning with predatory eyes for victims with apparent emotional discomfort, which the delinquent described as "sad" and " head low", with apparent susceptibility to approaching strangers. His heinous crimes were testament to his insatiable craving for lust. He sought pleasure with a singular ruthlessness, disregarding the feelings and safety of his victims. He would roam the Park with impunity, confident he would never be caught.
As a child he was molested by his aunt, after which he developed a fixation on breasts. As an adult, he was seduced by his boss to engage in homosexual relationships. In one such relationship with a Goth woman, she almost ripped off Pereira's penis, making him fear losing his reproductive organ. Pereira showed a darker side even before the murders. Thayna, a transvestite with whom he lived for more than a year, constantly reported that Francisco had punched her in the stomach and slapped her in the face, just as some of the surviving women had reported. Because of the incident with the gothic woman, he suffered from dyspareunia, pain present during sex, and the impossibility of pleasure is suspect of being the reason for Pereira's murder spree.
During interrogation, Pereira stated that convincing the victims was simple. He just said what they wanted to hear and showered them with compliments, identified himself as a talent scout for an important magazine, offered a good fee, and invited the girls to a photo session in an ecological environment. He said it was a unique opportunity, something predestined, that could not be wasted. However, instead of being photographed, they were humiliated, abused, and asphyxiated with a shoelace as the only way to feel pleasure was with dead victims so they wouldn't ridicule his deformed dick. The tech guitar riff that follows the song breakdown together with the hectic piano and orchestra in the song was carefully constructed to portray Maniaco's relentless act of cowardliness during his “tour of terror” together with his victims in the Park. He would also go on to say, "I was possessed by an evil force." and "I am a person with a good and a bad personality. Sometimes I am not able to dominate this dark side. I pray, I pray, but I cannot resist and then I chase after women. I wished that they would not go with me into the park, that they would run away." After being caught he claimed he was about to start cannibalizing his victims.
After he disappeared from his job, he only left a newspaper and a note on the table. He regretted having to leave, apologizing for the sudden action:
"My journey here, has ended..."
These series of atrocious crimes drove Marcelo Rezende, a famous journalist, to conduct an interview with him in prison. Marcelo was so shaken by the interview after asking the murderer if another Maniac would've done the same to his daughters and received not an answer back but a cold and bleak question in return: “What would YOU do if I 'd be your son?”. By this interview moment, a lot of the old-school sounds like in Psycho’s movie appear in, inspiring a lot of orchestrated parts that appear during this song, adding to the atmosphere of menace. These eerie sounds were meant to mimic the sense of terror the man was able to evoke in the minds of his victims. Combined with the lyrics, this song paints a vivid picture of a man consumed by the demons of lust. If that wasn't powerful enough, the last phrase of the song calls for Maniaco do Parque's death.

Old school Death Metal in its purest form. Thanks to Transcending Obscurity for this little gem. Found it on Bandcamp Friday. The clean singing part in „Rot of Ages“ is epic - i did not expecting this. Highly recommended for everyone who loves old school Death Metal! Sælzer Bub
